Transforming lives through movement
Kinesphere Therapy operates out of a bright and spacious 1,000-square-foot studio in the heart of East Vancouver.
We’re here to help you. In partnership with your therapist, you'll discover your movement potential, allowing you to participate in life in a more comfortable and meaningful manner.
What is meaningful movement?
Meaningful movement is about improving your mobility in a way that truly matters to you.
Whether it’s getting on the floor to play with your grandchildren, walking up and down the stairs, riding a bike, competing in the Olympics, or simply improving your overall mobility, meaningful movement is about defining the change you want to make with your body.
Our practitioners work with you to uncover your movement potential, making you more resilient and robust. With improved movement, your body becomes better equipped to manage increased load, stress, and any other challenges life brings.
Once you’ve achieved your movement goals, we love saying goodbye! When you no longer need supervision or hands-on therapy, we encourage you to continue exploring movement on your own, but we’re always here if you need support.
Our approach to clinical Pilates and movement therapy
Kinesphere Therapy is a specialty clinic providing movement-based therapy, which uses movement to address a patient's rehabilitation needs. Movement therapy teaches your body new ways to move while also changing your movement patterns to help reduce recurring injuries and provide long-term relief.
Our team of practitioners use movement to both assess and treat patients. Through active, hands-on therapy, we help address injuries, guide rehabilitation and improve our patient’s range of motion.
We use clinical Pilates equipment as part of our approach to movement-based therapy. This equipment provides adjustable resistance and support, making it ideal for targeting and treating specific areas of the body during rehabilitation. Our therapists also adapt Pilates exercises as part of their treatment plans to help patients build strength and stability and improve overall mobility.
Kinesphere
noun
———————————————
1. The sphere around the body whose periphery can be reached by easily extended limbs without stepping away from that place, which is the point of support when standing on one foot. Every body has a kinesphere, and every kinesphere is different.
Qualified therapists delivering a high standard of care
All our therapists are licensed healthcare professionals training in clinical Pilates other movement modalities.
Every practitioner at Kinesphere Therapy follows a unified approach to therapy, ensuring each patient receives the same high level of care. We approach each patient individually, designing an integrated and customized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs and movement goals.
Making movement available for everyone
We believe in access to healthcare, and we believe movement is a powerful force for change. That’s why Kinesphere Therapy offers a number of cost-effective treatment options:
Group sessions
Our group sessions accommodate up to three patients, each following their own individualized program. These are parallel movement therapy appointments, where you’ll be assessed and treated by a licensed therapist while sharing the session time with other patients.
Self-directed sessions
Our self-directed sessions allow patients to explore movement independently and use our equipment without guidance from a therapist. These sessions cannot be claimed via health benefits but are available at a fraction of the price of our individual sessions.
A focus on cooperation
At Kinesphere Therapy, we value cooperation in all facets of our business, which includes our patients, practitioners, partners, and the community.
Patients: We work with you to define your movement goals
Practitioners: We collaborate with each other to treat you — our patients — as a team
